No, I’m really not the soup Nazi!

I do cook a lot of soups, and by the amount of soup posts here, you may think that I don’t cook much else! Yes, I cook other things, but alas, I DO LOVE to cook soups, and for good reason!

Really, I’m not the soup nazi!

So it may look like I cook mainly soups, by the looks of my posts. I do like to make soups, and it’s probably how I started cooking years ago. But I do cook other things!

There are many reasons why I have lots of soups in my arsenal:
Soups were easy to put together and cook all in one pot when my 3 kids were little. I could put the soup together and let it cook without having to stand at the stove for a long period of time. And it’s kinda hard to overcook or burn a soup!

Most of my soups are complete meals. I love that. Some could be rounded out with some sort of salad and some bread and BOOM, you have a meal. Lots of carbs, lots of protein, lots of veggies. I love veggies and I LOVE beans.

Speaking of veggies, I’m a big vegetable fan. Sure, I make vegetable dishes for side dishes, but I LOVE putting them together in different kinds of soups.

And soup is comfort food to me, especially here in Connecticut, where it’s cold 11 months out of the year. LOL You have summer veggies, fall veggies, cream based soups, clear broths, soups that are good when you are sick, thick soups like pasta fagioli and lentil soup, butternut squash soup (the garam masala in that one, WHOA!), along with soups that you can add ham, beef, pork…or keep it all meatless, never mind the chowders…

See, there are SO many options. Makes me hungry, actually.

Anyway, I like soups of all sorts. I guess you can hang around here and see which one I cook and post about next! 😉
